Engine Light Generates a Ton of Advice!

First of all, thank you for all of your feed back on the idiot light! Here's a sampling of Facebook comments:

I did check the gas cap. It works, but Mark says I should get a new one anyway. It could just be wishful thinking, but he really thinks that could be the problem. It would certainly be the cheapest! The heater isn't working now! Is that a related event, or just crap luck?

How did you find your mechanic? Any suggestions in the Portland area?
