More than 230 cities had applied to become Amazon's "HQ2". That included Brunswick and Scarborough. They didn't make the final cut.

It was a long shot. We all knew that, but you don't know until you try. We tried. We had to try...according to NBC News:

The company had said it would invest $5 billion to create its new headquarters and would create 50,000 "high-paying jobs" within 10 to 15 years of its opening.

Who the hell wouldn't try for that?

Here are the 20 finalists for Amazon's second headquarters:

  • Atlanta
  • Austin
  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Columbus
  • Dallas
  • Denver
  • Indianapolis
  • Los Angeles
  • Miami
  • Montgomery County, Maryland
  • Nashville
  • Newark, NJ
  • New York City
  • Northern Virginia
  • Philadelphia
  • Pittsburgh
  • Raleigh
  • Toronto
  • Washington DC

Okay. I'm rooting for Boston! Gooooo Boston!
