Blimp Time-Hop: 1st Def Lep Show In Portland of the Century

19 years ago today, Def Leppard returned to Portland for a sold-out show at the Civic Center to bring us into the new millennium.  This was a tour in support of their 1999 release, Euphoria. Maybe you remember BLM playing the tracks Promises and Paper Sun.

The sound of Euphoria was a reminiscent of their giant classic albums, Pyromania and Hysteria and for this writer was the last true Def Lep record until the release of their latest self-titled album in October of 2016.

February 15, 2000 felt like an Eighties concert night and we loved it! Opening the show was the legendary Joan Jett, sportin’ a shaved head.

Before she came out and melted faces, the WBLM Morning Show officiated the wedding ceremony of two loyal Blimpsters on stage. How 'bout that for an epic celebration of love around Valentines Day? Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Buckhoff!
