The re-construction of the Boston Bruins under new GM Don Sweeney is underway. On NHL draft day the B's traded forward Milan Lucic and defenseman Dougie Hamilton.

Clearly, Sweeny and the B's were looking to shed some payrolland get control of salary cap problems.

As a result of the trades, the Bruins selected the #13, #14 and #15 draft picks in the first round.

They selected D Jakub Zboril, LW Jake Debrusk and RW Zachary Senyshyn with those picks.

Lucic was traded to the LA Kings in exchange for G Martin Jones, a young defenseman Colin Miller and the #13 pick.

Hamilton was trade to Calgary and the Bruins get back the #15 draft pick and two 2nd round picks.
