Clay Buchholz gave up a home run on the first pitch of the game while the Red Sox offense has gone cold. It all spells another loss to the Chicago White Sox, 3-1.

Buchholz settled in some and pitched five innings, giving up three runs on four hits. He struck out five and walked one.

The real problem right now is the offense. The Sox left the bases loaded in the third inning, had two on with one out in the eighth inning but could not score.

They finished with six hits - one double and five singles.

The best news for the Sox is that both Baltimore and Toronto both lost too.
