We are getting ready for the biggest Oktoberfest celebration Maine has ever seen. September 8 at Thompson's Point in Portland. This Bavarian Beer Carnival will be a celebration of local food, German-inspired music, tons of games, competitions, performances, prizes, and fun.

Oktoberfest will have dozens of different kinds of beer. From California to Vermont and of course, Maine. But you can't have a real Bavarian beer carnival without real GERMAN beer. Maybe we can't pronounce the names of the beers, but we sure damn well will be drinking them on Saturday!

While we will have tons of fun games at Oktoberfest, the most grueling of them all will be the stein hoisting contest with our friends from Sam Adams. A normal person can hoist a stein of beer for about four minutes. The world record is around 20 minutes.

Get tickets now and start your beer stein hoisting training!

Over 40 brewers will be at the event. These include a great mix of famous local breweries, regional breweries, and of course many traditional German Oktoberfest breweries.

There will be many of the traditional aspects of being in Munich, Germany, but with a Pine Tree State spin on things.

  • Gates open for food only at 5 p.m.
  • Festivities, games and beer drinking at 5:30 p.m.
  • Taps close at 9:30 p.m.

Don't miss out on a night of fun!
