I travel over the Casco Bay Bridge a couple times every day and I very rarely get stuck with it up. When I do, I take advantage of the few extra minutes to grab a coffee at Dunkin there in Mill Creek. That said, maintenance can be disruptive. Bridges need sealing against water and salt and according to the Portland Press Herald, next week the overnight work will begin from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m..

The bridge will operate two of the four lanes and the sidewalk will remain open in an effort to create minimal impact.
