Pawtucket got the 2-1 win over the Syracuse Chiefs in the bottom of the 10th with a walk-off bases loaded single.

Edwin Escobar and Heath Hembree, the two pitchers acquired from the SF Giants in the Jake Peavy trade, combined to pitch all 10 innings.

Game two of the best-of-five series at McCoy Stadium tonight.

 

In the Double-A Eastern League playoffs, the Portland Seadogs lost in a walk-off to the Binghamton Mets 8-5.

T.J. Rivera blasted a 3-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Mets. Binghamton scored six runs in the final two innings, five of them were unearned.

Brian Johnson pitched seven great innings for the Seadogs, allowing just two runs on six hits and a two walks before the bullpen imploded.

Newly signed Cuban outfielder Rusney Castillo started the game in centerfield, going 1-for-3 with a stolen base before coming out of the game.

Game two in Binghamton tonight. This series is a best-of-five.
