35 years ago today, the Grateful Dead made their second sold-out appearance at the Civic Center in Portland. The 'circus' came town once again on May 11, 1980. This was the 15th Anniversary tour celebrating their first show together as the Warlocks in Menlo Park, California at Magoo's Pizza on May 5, 1965.
I'm back at Gritty's in Auburn this Friday for another live broadcast of the WBLM Afternoon Express! We love coming back to our roots and sharing memories with area Blimpsters who have been with us since the beginning. Of course the biggest 'remember when' stories are all the great concerts that came to Lewiston/Auburn back in the day.

I've seen a lot of "Je Suis Charlie" on social media in response to the terrible terrorist attack at the offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine in France this week. I think we are especially affected here in New England because the parallels of this story remind us how we felt after the Boston Marathon bombings.
