I was traveling with my family to Dixmont on Father's Day. Of course we had A to Z on for the ride up! It was the letter 'O' and a song from the mid-nineties came on right around Pittsfield, called 'One of Us' by Joan Osborne. I've always loved that song and it's a great reminder to look for the good in others. Hearing it also reminded me of a very special moment in the WBLM Studio this past January.
The best part of being on air on the Blimp (especially during A to Z) is hearing from all of our great listeners. Sometimes you can feel a doozy coming on....and that's when Celeste and I play Should I Take This Call??? Thanks to Teddy McKay for his cameo on this
Happy Tuesday. We have cracked into the "B" Section of the mysterious Blimp Archives. There seems to be lots of controversy about the exact location of this behemoth of legendary music. Is it real? Where is it in One City Center? Here's a documentary from 2010
We're off! The Best of The Blimp from A to Z started at 8am. Get ready for an amazing journey through the BLM Archives for the next couple of weeks. Since we've been at this for over 40 years, we've amassed one of the biggest collections of Rock anywhere in the world
A few years ago, a sixth grader named Chaz job shadowed the BLM Morning show. The Captain saw him the other day around town and said stop by and see us some time. This morning, he showed up to say hello.
It was great to see our old friend Jonathan Edwards at The Blimp this week. Always great to hang out and talk music, guitars, etc. And it was a real treat to actually make some music with him! Check it out
By the time I'd rolled in there were already thousands of people there. The Ocean Gateway parking lot was teaming with food trucks, serving everything from cupcakes to pizza and of course Gritty's was in the house pouring pints.
