It's Day 6 of 20 Albums in 20 Days! Today's featured album is Pink Floyd'sDark Side of the Moon. This one is especially precious for us here at the Blimp, as it was released in March of 1973, the same month WBLM was born.
Tonight we mark two events in Pink Floyd history, one happy and one sad. The happy memory is the release of their ninth studio album, Wish You Were Here on this date in 1975. The sad memory, 6 years ago today we lost Pink Floyd keyboard and founding member Rick Wright.

Today is David Gilmour's birthday, the guitar master turns 68 today and we're celebrating with live Pink Floyd at 5:20! Tomorrow night premiere Pink Floyd Tribute band The Machine returns to Portland with a show at the State Theatre. Tommy C will have another set of tickets to give away on his Coffee Break at 10:15 tomorrow morning, and we'll rock with Floyd tomorrow night! Pink Floyd entered Abbey Road Studios in London for day two of work on their debut album, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, today in 1967. The Beatles were across the hall recording the giant piano chord for A Day In the Life. Pretty heavy eh?
