Their first Blimpville appearance was at the Lewiston Armory in February of 1975. They returned for the first year of the Cumberland County Civic Center in November of 1977. In 1980, they came back to Portland for the second and last time able to leave their fur coats behind for a summer night in Maine.
On July 13, 1985, my friend Paul and I were visiting with some girls we had just met at a campground in OOB. The had a pop-up and invited us to hang. No, we didn't get lucky. But we were lucky enough that the camper also included a TV.
I’m back at Gritty’s in Auburn tomorrow for another live broadcast of the WBLM Afternoon Express! We love coming back to our roots and sharing memories with area Blimpsters who have been with us since the beginning.
