Plenty of wild sights to wow us on the morning commute that's for sure. Not much tops what Colby Thomas saw earlier today on Bacon Street in Biddeford.
Here comes the first big Nor'easter of the season. We could see gusts up to 60 mph between 11 pm tonite and 11 am Thursday morning. It should be pretty crazy at Maine beaches with the wind, rain, and surf. Here's a safe and warm way to watch it all-with a cool live cam of Higgins Beach in Scarborough. I bet if you watch you'll see some surfers out there. Be safe everybody!
This will be our first Nor'easter, with no white but plenty of wet blowing hard out there. Expect the possibility of battering wind gusts up to 55 MPH with heavy rain especially along the coast.

Watch as our friend Ted McInerney meteorologist extraordinaire from WMTW 8 explains this fascinating folklore. Apparently, size does matter. Band size that is.
This could be THE weekend for amazing fall foliage in the Pine Tree State. This is the weekend where almost the whole state is at peak and we have not lost leaves yet. The last day of summer in Maine was a beauty! We know lots of you got to the beach today. It wasn't a record-breaker though. That was in 1914 when it got to 92 degrees in Portland. Fall officially starts at 3:50 am on Monday and believe it or not, it will be even warmer than today!
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, confirmation of a tornado touching down in Washington County on Monday happened when we were experiencing thunderstorms in the Southern part of the state.
After the hottest month EVER in Portland, we're wondering what Mother Nature might have in store for us in August. It couldn't possibly be hotter, could it?
We certainly had some wicked thunderstorms move through in the past 24 hours. Many lost power! It always looks pretty cool on top of Mt. Washington, but can you imagine watching a thunderstorm up there? The great folks at the Observatory caught a good strike on Thursday night.
Our buddies in the band, Flooded Cellar released a new video today on YouTube and if you're a wicked Mainah (as if you ain't), you should see it. The song is called Inside Maine's Outdoors. We gotta warn ya, it'll be stuck in your head after the first listen.
