Isaiah Thomas scored a career-high 42 points, and the Boston Celtics beat the Atlanta Hawks 111-103 Friday night, cutting Boston's playoff series deficit to 2-1.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens inserted Evan Turner and Jonas Jerebko into the starting lineup. Turner finished with 17 points and seven assists, while Jerebko posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Jeff Teague scored a team-high 23 points, and Kent Bazemore and Dennis Schroder each scored 20 points for the Hawks.

It was the Celtics first playoff win under coach Brad Stevens.

Game four of the series will take place Sunday night in Boston.
