Gorham Savings Bank is going to reward an entrepreneurial Maine business with a $50,000 grant! Launchpad's mission every year is to help fund the growth of one small but promising Maine business. The competition will be held tomorrow June 6th at USM's Hannaford Hall. The social gathering begins at 4:30 and the competition itself begins at 5. Go to gorhamsavingsbank.com/launchpad for more details and to RSVP. It's a free event, but the seating is limited!

Here are the competing innovators and entrepreneurs:

  • Good to Go, Kittery
  • Jellux, Saco
  • North Spore, Westbrook
  • STARC Systems
  • UniteGPS, Portland

These five finalists were whittled down from 140 applicants. It's certain to be an inspiring evening, especially for those of us who dream about our "million dollar idea"! I'm curious to watch them present their products and see what questions are thrown out to them during the Q&A. Small businesses contribute to the largest share of jobs in Maine, according to the U.S. Small Business Association. Gorham Savings Bank supports Maine Business and this is their fifth year hosting Launchpad. Learn more at Gorhamsavingsbank.com.
