Claire’s Jewelry Stores File For Bankruptcy

Claire's, the jewelry store aimed at girls and young women has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Claire's has several locations in Maine.

According to MSN Money, the jewelry store found most often in malls, filed for Chapter 11 hoping to rid itself of almost $2 billion in debt and stay afloat.

This comes on the heels of Toys R Us announcing it will close all its stores after being unable to restructure.

Maine has five Claire's locations. At the Maine Mall, Freeport Village Station, Auburn Mall, The Marketplace at Augusta and The Bangor Mall.
