A clean tooth brush doesn't only keep your teeth and gums healthy, it affects your overall health as well, especially during cold and flu season!

Sooo...

  • Replace your toothbrush often! Don't wait until it gets shaggy.
  • If you've been sick, throw away your toothbrush to keep from reinfecting yourself. Those nasty head cold germs can live for weeks in the bristles.
  • You don't even want to know how many disgusting fecal germs are sprayed within a 6 foot radius when you flush the toilet! Don't leave your toothbrush anywhere near that! Protect your brush in a medicine cabinet or another safe, spray-free place.
  • Another storage no-no is grouping toothbrushes into a glass or shared holder together. You may as well use your roomies toothbrush if their's is knocking up against yours sharing germs!
  • The best way to store your toothbrush is upright, by itself in a container that let's it dry out and breathe. There are very few things grosser than the bottom of a toothbrush holder cup. That's some nasty business! If you MUST use one, sanitize it with diluted hydrogen peroxide once a week.

Stay healthy and keep smiling.
