Scorching summer days require footwear so that you don't burn your tootsies on hot sand or hot pavement! But what about your dog? Their paw pads can burn too, and it hurts! Here is a simple way to determine if it's too hot to walk your dog.Touch the back of your hand to the pavement or sand, if you can't leave it there for 5 seconds, it'll burn your dog's feet! Walk him on the grass, or wait until evening when it cools down. Dog booties are available too, but most dogs hate them. Here are some more hot weather pet tips from the ASPCA.

Take good care of all of your family members in the heat!
