There's some good news for gamers and Mainers alike, according to Bethesda, the popular video game Fallout 4 will be adding a massive new playable map that will take place entirely in Maine. Bethesda Studios, the company behind Fallout 4, announced a plethora of downloadable content coming in 2016. The biggest update will be the ability for players to visit Maine, with a new map called "Far Harbor".

Fallout 4 is a post-apocolyptic adventure video game that is initially set in the Boston region. There are several areas of the "commonwealth" that can explored as players attempt to gather vital supplies to survive the nuclear holocaust. It has already received several awards including Game of the Year.

The downloadable add-on called "Far Harbor" won't be available until May of 2016. Bethesda previewed the downloadable content by saying this:

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

What will Bethesda's version of Maine look like? Infected moose? Mutated lobster? Ghost whaling ships? Here's a snapshot of the "Far Harbor" coastline posted by Bethesda.
