A new coalition of nine non-profits has formed as a result of Gov. Paul LePage's plan to tax non-profits in Maine. This would be the only state in the country to do so. Leaders of the group say that the combination of taxes and Medicaid cuts will cost them a combined $18.5 million. This would affect many jobs and the people who are touched by the services provided by the non-profits. Bangor Daily News did a great job covering the story, you can read it here.

Gov.LePage has held four town hall style meetings so far and will hold another one Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Thornton Academy, 438 Main St., in Saco.
