From a history making first ever NCAA appearance to the upcoming game in the round of 16, Graham Safford and his Bates College Bobcats are having a season to remember.

Safford was a high school standout, first at Camden Hills, then at Hampden Academy.

Now as a senior captain at Bates College in Lewiston, Safford's team plays Trinity College Friday (5:30pm) in the NCAA Division III round of 16. The playoff site is Wellesley, Massachusetts. The Bobcats are now 21-6 after tournament wins over St. Vincent and Stockton University.

Safford is leading the Bobcats in scoring at almost 16 points per game. He was named  NESCAC first team all conference.
