For decades Americans were accustomed to frozen turkey, but consumers are now buying more fresh turkeys. The turkeys that you buy frozen have usually grown up in a barn and have been fed corn. Free range turkeys are allowed to wander and feed on natural foods like grass and flowers and are fed an organic diet. The result in the meat is a more gamey flavor and a different texture than the frozen. Organic food is expensive so the turkeys that eat it are too. Another difference is that frozen turkeys have often been fed antibiotics to plump them up.

Which do you serve?
