Here’s Why It Feels Like The Longest Maine Winter Evah

Multiple Nor'easters, tons of days off from school and still more to come with temperatures and an icy mix expected for this Sunday. Winter just seems to hang on here in Maine. One reason is that it seems that you haven't seen your yard in weeks. Make that months.  And you would be right. Check out this graph from our buds at the National Weather Service in Gray.

It shows the number of consecutive days with an inch or more of snow. Gray has had 113 this year! That puts it in the top 10 of all time. Portland just missed its top 10 because of 2 days. So yeah, it's been over 100 days in most towns where we've been snow-covered. No WONDER we are all going a bit crazy.
