The Portland park on Congress Street by the courthouses and fire station is becoming a more beautiful place to visit with the restoration of it's water fountain. It works now! The park was created after the Great Fire of 1866 and named after Abraham Lincoln. So needless to say, this historic landmark is one of our most precious outdoor spaces. According to their Facebook page, Friends of Lincoln Park are dedicated to preserving our first public park in hopes of attracting more visitors. Because of their work you may have noticed some cool art sculptures that have been installed. Now here's another reason to stop and enjoy this great Portland place. Thanks to Friends of Lincoln Park and Portland Parks and Recreation for all their efforts in restoring this beautiful old fountain and bringing it back to life!
