Passengers flying in to Los Angeles International Airport are getting a reminder that the Eagles will help reopen the legendary Forum later this month. A gigantic image featuring a replica of the band's 1976 'Hotel California' record is currently draped over the venue's roof.

The Eagles will play six shows at the Forum between Jan. 15-25. The facility, which has undergone a $100 million renovation, is directly beneath the arrival path of more than 1,700 daily flights to L.A.

The image -- which is being touted as the largest vinyl record ever built -- is set on more than a quarter-million square feet of printed vinyl and is supported by a half-mile of aluminum truss. You can watch a video on the making of it above.

The Forum holds a special place in the history of the Eagles, who recorded three sold-out shows there as part of their tour in support of 1975's 'One of These Nights.' Some of the songs later showed up on their 1980 live album. Other artists scheduled to play the renovated Forum include Paul Simon and Sting, who will perform together on Feb. 15.
