I loiter at Goodwill. There is not a thing there that I need. But every now and then I find something that I can't live without. Like this dress. I was just doing my usual walk-through when the costume rack caught my eye. It was last Thursday and I had no where to be for Halloween. But although this costume was completely unnecessary, I had to try it on. You see, I have been trying to get Sabelle to wear one for years. She solidly refuses.

When I was a kid, (here it comes...), my costume was an itchy princess costume from KMart. Remember those plastic masks with the elastic that would pull your hair out? You couldn't see a thing and your face would get all sweaty. Ick. Now I see these amazing ball gowns for $30 and I melt right there in the girls costume section! How can she not want to wear one?! I don't understand!

The 8 year old in me dare not dream that this used costume at Goodwill would fit me! I met a couple of nice ladies at the fitting room and they zipped me up and spun me around and declared that it was a perfect fit and that I MUST have it! I couldn't get home fast enough. It was only twenty dollars! I hand washed this massive thing in our bathtub with color safe bleach and detergent. Twice. It came out great! It just needs a quick steam and it will be ready for me to wear. EVERYWHERE! If you see me wearing it at the Hannaford on Friday, please just compliment me and move along.

Have you ever found a costume that inspired you to dress up for Halloween? What has been your favorite costume to wear? Facebook us #imafreakingqueen, or tweet us.

I think it needs a push up bra.
