Every now and then I see something so stinkin' adorable that I have to learn how to make it. I'm not talking about complicated, fancy things. It's the simple stuff, like corn husk dolls, felted gnomes and paper hats that catch my eye and send me tapping over to YouTube for a tutorial. Paper hats got into my head, so I've made them in every size and have placed them jauntily on everything from my salt and pepper shakers, my kids' dolls, my morning show partner, and even used them as lampshades. When I was a kid, paper hats and airplanes were something that we all knew how to make. During the years however, that part of my brain that remembers how to fold paper, was over- written with new information about grown up stuff. If you have forgotten how to make these fabulously cunning accessories, here's a refresher!

I got fancier for my friend Kylie here at work and added a pink construction paper feather. Our friend Chris added a feather duster. How creative!

I even made them for everyone at a birthday party! I'm outta my mind!

The smaller that I made them, the cuter they were! See my cat Stanley under the coffee table? He rejected my chapeau, but enjoyed watching me put them on the dogs.

Here's an advanced move. Add a Robin Hood hat to your dress up drawer!

I spotted these framed paper flowers at JoAnn Fabric and I've been inspired to learn how to make them. I hollow out a lot of books to create dioramas, so I always have stacks of book pages that I can't manage to throw away. Perfect for this project, I'll let you know how it goes.
