I never got a chance to go but everyone seemed to really enjoy the cash only bar on Munjoy Hill known as Mama's CrowBar. According to Mainetoday, CrowBar offered a wide selection of craft beers, great music and even hosted a poetry night. (how adorably hipster!) It's mismatched furniture gave it that welcoming and unpretentious feel.

Munjoy Hill Tavern doesn't look ANYTHING like what the CrowBar looked like inside, but it sounds equally as delightful. They feature a boozy house-made sangria special from 4 to 6 p.m., $2 Budweiser drafts and food, such as pizza with your choice of toppings, French fries, chicken tenders and mozzarella and tomato skewers. There are corn hole boards setup out back. (I love a bar that offers activities!)

So though we mourn the loss of Mama's CrowBar, I think Munjoy Hill Tavern should be welcomed with open arms. It is a reasonably priced spot where we can eat, drink and be merry on the hill. Bring on the sangria!
