Only a few Metallica fans will be fortunate enough to catch the band's Record Store Day 2016 concert in person — but for the rest of us, there's always the internet.

Classic Rock Magazine reports that the band will offer a free live stream of its set from Rasputin's in Berkeley, Calif., tomorrow, with viewers able to tune in on the group's Facebook page starting at 4PM PT. It's just one component of Metallica's work on behalf of this year's event, for which they're serving as official ambassadors.

As previously reported, Metallica will also issue a special release for RSD 2016. Titled Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Metallica!: Live at Le Bataclan, the nine-track concert recording was culled from a 2003 appearance in Paris and will benefit victims of last year's terrorist attacks in the city. It arrives the day after expanded reissues of the band's classic Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightning LPs.

"Metallica has been lifelong supporters of record stores and indie retail, because – well, because we grew up with it and no one would play our stuff, so that's where we would meet friends, meet fans, hang out at the record stores and get to find out what cool new music is out there," James Hetfield told Rolling Stone. Added Lars Ulrich, "Independent record stores are part of Metallica's DNA. They have been pivotal in shaping each one of us into the music fanatics we've all become."

In addition to the band's Record Store Day 2016 festivities, fans can look forward to a new album in the near future. According to Ulrich, the group is "quite far along" in preparations for the follow-up to 2008's Death Magnetic, and he expects recording to wrap up this spring.
