Metal acts Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax transcend the limits of of soundwaves and transform into a whole new kind of awesome in this new video from Filthy Frackers and Loudwire.

Featuring Metallica‘s ‘One,’ Slayer's ‘Raining Blood,’ Megadeth‘s ‘Sweating Bullets’ and Anthrax‘s ‘Madhouse’, the stylized video above isn't just chock full of some of metal's biggest acts and tracks, it's also got a bunch of terrific video game cameos, too. During each segment of the brief chiptune medley above, you'll be able to catch the likes of Dr. Mario, Mega Man, Bart Simpson, the Angry Video Game Nerd, Dr. Fred, Dr. Wily, and an absolutely apt appearance from Bloodrayne.

The snippets of the songs themselves are taken straight from the music videos of the era, and then passed through some highly technical animation processors to give them the pixelated look reminiscent of the NES. Anthrax's 'Madhouse' by far features the most guest appearances, but for our money, Metallica's 'One' is stylish enough that we wish there was more. Slayer's 'Raining Blood' video is a bit straightforward, but still looks cool, even if the drummer does look a bit like Blake from 'Workaholics'. We'll probably never get tired of watching Dave Mustane beating himself up in the 'Sweating Bullets' video, and the way it's rendered here definitely reminds us of classics like Karate.

All in all, it's a pretty cool video, even if you're not a devout metalhead. You can check out more work by Filthy Frackers on their YouTube.
