This is Barbara, she is one of the characters selling treasures at the Brunswick Indoor Flea Market. Most of you will recognize the album in her hands, the Rolling Stones' Sticky Fingers. A few years ago WBLM gave away precious pieces of our record collection to listeners during A to Z. One of the first albums to be chosen by a listener was Sticky Fingers. Like me, they were enchanted by the working metal zipper and the absolutely stunning photography. True that Andy Warhol had a gifted subject to work with...Wowza. OK, back to my story... I was crushed when it left the studio and I've had my eye out for a replacement. Barbara had this special copy in an album frame, ready to be mine for only $20 bucks! Yes Please and Thank You, Barbara! I thought my transaction was complete, but she insisted that I inspect it thoroughly and started removing it from the frame. The album itself is in great condition, so I moved on to the cover to show my friend the working zipper. As I started to gently pull down the zipper I saw a little...bush. Yep. Upon closer inspection in the car, we discovered that some dude had "altered" the album by gluing in a dick pic! Of course it couldn'lt live up to the cover, but it's the thought that counts! I imagine it was a heartfelt Valentine gift to his girlfriend in 1978. It is hilarious! They say that everything happens for a reason so thank you to the listener that took our copy from the Blimp studio. If you hadn't, I never would have found this one. If you do ever visit the studio, check it out on our wall. I couldn't hang this at home!
