NCAA Regional Day For UMaine Softball
UMaine softball steps into NCAA regional play for the third time in program history today when the Black Bears take on the #16 Georgia Bulldogs from the SEC.
Gametime is 3pm in Athens, Georgia.
Northwestern and Oklahoma State are the other two teams in the four team, double elimination tourney.
The Black Bears are 28-19 after sweeping through the America East Conference Tournament. The team set school records for runs (262) and hits (421). The team's .320 batting average is 33rd in the nation.
The Georgia Bulldogs are 40-17 and are 20-7 at home. The Bulldogs entered the SEC tournament as the #8 seed and lost to Ole Miss. Georgia is hitting.354 as a team and scored 339 runs.
