New Horrendous Ways to Break Up

Remember all the brouhaha back in the day about being broken up with via Post-It note? Well, those were romantic times! A hand written self-stick note (often used for grocery lists) seems personal compared to what's happening out there right now. In a recent survey of young adults, 56 percent admitted ditching someone via text message, social media or email. When asked why not face-to-face or phone call, 55 percent said it was less awkward by text. Cowards! People are finding out that their intimate relationships have ended on Facebook! "Oh, look, my fiance changed his status to single. Maybe I should find out what that's all about." Not only is electronic dumping impersonal, it's downright public and humiliating! Whatever happened to, "we've got to talk"?
