Only in Maine: Candlelight Windshield Defroster

With all the melting during the day and refreezing after the sun goes down lately, I feel like this would have worked way faster to get my windshield clear last night. 

During a traffic stop in Waldo County, the officer noticed a pretty unique way of getting some heat out the dashboard. If you think to defrost your window with candles, you might be from Maine. Wonder if you can get a ticket for that?
