The two big free agent pickups for the Boston Red Sox had Fenway openers to forget. David Price gave up five runs in five innings and then closer Craig Kimbrel gave up a 3-run homer to Chris Davis in the 9th that gave the Orioles a 9-7 win.

The Sox fall to 3-3. Baltimore is 6-0.

Price was great at times. He struck out eight but he threw 104 pitches in his five innings.

To the Sox credit, they battled back to tie the game several times but the Davis blast was the difference.

Mookie Betts had three hits for Boston, including his second home run of the year.
