Operation Outreach, Touching Maine Veterans

On Wednesday, Napa Auto Parts in Topsham hosted Operation Outreach, a mobile service center for veterans. Their main goal is helping veterans and their families transition between military and civilian life.

Eric Noll from the Lewiston Vet Center encourages veterans to take advantage of this free and completely confidential, resource. Some of the services offered include:

• bereavement counseling
• sexual trauma/harassment counseling
• couples/marital/family counseling
• substance abuse counseling
• individual and group counseling

There are Vet Centers located in Bangor, Caribou, Lewiston, Portland and Sanford, as well as the Operation Outreach mobile unit. The Vet Center 24/7 Hotline number is (877) 927-8387. Go to www.vetcenter.va.gov for more information. Again, the help is totally confidential.
