24 hours after Wade Miley's dismal performance put Baltimore in a hole, Drew Pomeranz did the same thing to is Red Sox. The lefty gave up five runs in the second inning and the Sox never recovered and fell to the O's 6-3.

Pomeranz was pitching with extra rest and he still gave up a 3-run homer to J.J. Hardy and a 2-run shot to Nolan Reimold.

As is often the case with the Sox, a night after pounding the ball, they could get no offense generated 24 hours later. They were 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

The best thing you can say about last night - well, the Blue Jays lost and the Sox lead stays at two games in the AL East.
