The nationally famous Palace Diner in Biddeford was named to Eater’s list of America’s 38 Essential Restaurants last year. Now co-owner Greg Mitchell is planning to open a restaurant at the former Bolster, Snow & Co. restaurant space at 747 Congress St. in Portland inside The Francis according to an article in the Press Herald.

So far Greg is staying tight lipped about pretty much all aspects of the new restaurant. So for now the name, and type of food is a mystery, but he has said he'll give up some more information next month. All we know is that he plans on redecorating the interior, including a new entrance so customers won't have to walk through the lobby of the Francis Hotel. He also added that he plans to be open by May.

Branching out is nothing new for the other Palace Diner co-owner Chad Conley who opened the modern Jewish deli Rose Foods in 2017. Both owners site a great team at the Palace Diner that allows them to be able to pursue other passions while still operating a successful diner in Biddeford.
