Go figure. Red Sox starter Henry Owens lasted just three innings. Sox pitching walked a total of nine hitters. Yet, the Red Sox beat the White Sox 7-3.

Dustin Pedroia, Hanley Ramirez and Jackie Bradley Jr. all hit home runs. David Ortiz had two hits as the Sox offense produced.

The Sox bullpen pitched six innings of one-run ball after Owens struggled for three innings.

The win puts Boston at 17-11 with a weekend series in New York that starts tonight against the Yankees.

NOTE: Before the game, the White Sox honored David Ortiz with gifts on his final appearance at U.S. Cellular Field. The biggie gift was a cigar humidor made out of wood by former White Sox OF Ron Kittle. The humidor was stocked with cigars.
