Fresh off their impressive win against the Bills on Sunday, the New England Patriots hope to keep their winning momentum going against the 1-5 New York Jets when the two teams meet Thursday night at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

The Patriots will be without running back Stevan Ridley and linebacker Jerod Mayo, but they should still have more than enough defense and offensive firepower to overcome the Jets. The biggest challenge facing the Patriots defense will be to stop the Jets running game led by Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory. They will also have to check quarterback Geno Smith's ability to scamper out of the pocket and hit receivers on the fly.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady told Patriots.com that the Jets always play the Patriots tough and this Thursday will be no different. On NYJets.com, Head Coach Rex Ryan is reportedly working on a special defense scheme designed to hinder Brady's passing options.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick reminded his team on Sunday that it was really Wednesday in terms of the time they have to get ready for the Jets.
