Tom Brady was in attendance and went through regular reps with the team, but did not meet with the media after things wrapped up. Brady also led off every period of team drills according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald. Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett also worked out alongside the MVP quarterback in accuracy passing drills.

Some notable players missing from day one included Julien Edelman, Danny Amendola, Logan Ryan, LeGarrette Blount, Dion Lewis, Tre Jackson, Josh Kline, Sebastian Vollmer, Nate Solder, Nate Ebner, and Rob Gronkowski. When asked about the Gronkowski's absence in the minicamp, Head Coach Bill Belichick deflected questions saying, "there were a lot of players that weren't on the field. They were doing other things."
One player that was speculated to potentially sit out the three day minicamp was Malcolm Butler, but the cornerback was in attendance on Tuesday. Butler was also very coy when asked about his contract status with the team.
