Pearl Jam Rock ‘Ten’ Album in Its Entirety in Philadelphia
Pearl Jam may not prefer to go to the "full album" well often, but the band has enjoyed the experience for the second time in a month. This time the band took on their debut album Ten for those at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Friday (April 29).
Earlier in April, Pearl Jam played their Vs. album in full in Greenville, S.C. But for the Philadelphia set, the group started their night with the Ten opener "Once," followed by the hits "Even Flow" and "Alive" off their breakout disc. From there "Why Go," "Black," "Jeremy," "Oceans," "Porch," "Garden," "Deep" and "Release" all followed, before the band transitioned away from the disc with "Breakerfall." This marked the second time in their career that the band has performed the full Ten album all the way through, previously doing so in 1992 at a concert in Munich.
Like when the band played Vs. in South Carolina, Pearl Jam made sure that fans were treated to more than just the one album. Tracks like "Corduroy," "Who You Are," "Spin the Black Circle," "Mind Your Manners," "Given to Fly," "Daughter," "Better Man" and "Yellow Ledbetter" all made the set, along with acoustic performances of "Bee Girl" and "Just Breathe" and covers of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," Wayne Cochran's "Last Kiss," Neil Young's "Thrown Your Hatred Down," Dead Boys' "Sonic Reducer," The Who's "Baba O'Riley and a show closing Mike McCready rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner."
