Jon Lester gone. Johnny Gomes gone. Jake Peavy gone. Stephen Drew gone. Andrew Miller gone. The Red Sox 2014 season over...

The Fenway fire sale was the most ridiculous Yawkey Way soap opera we Boston Red Sox fans have seen since the beer and chicken fiasco that helped doom the 2011 team. When I had a chance to go to Hadlock Field on Thursday night and enjoy the Portland Sea Dogs, the Red Sox Double A team, actually play some baseball in a real fan friendly environment, I decided to go and it was wonderful!

The sights and sounds of this Portland ballpark represents everything that baseball is supposed to be about. Perfect weather and a perfect night culminated with a fantastic 20-minute fireworks show. It didn't even matter to me that the Sea Dogs lost to the Trenton Thunder, the Yankees Double A team, 2-1.
