Price Pitches Gem In 2-1 Win [VIDEO]

David Price was able to give the Boston Red Sox more than enough from the mound on Sunday afternoon as they took the rubber game of the series from the Seattle Mariners by a score of 2-1.

Price pitched well on the hill, going eight strong innings, allowing just a lone run, eight hits and striking out seven.  With the victory, Price now has an 8-4 record and the Sox kept pace with the Baltimore Orioles who beat the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday as well.

The Sox bats were there during the afternoon game as they powered 11 hits, but that only accounted for two total runs as Boston's offense left 22 men on base during the contest.  Hanley Ramirez started the scoring for Boston in the sixth inning with an RBI single to tie the game after Price allowed a solo shot to Franklin Gutierrez earlier on in the contest.  Mookie Betts would give the Sox the lead with his 15th home run of the year in the seventh.  Craig Kimbrel would close the door in the ninth and earned his 16th save of the year.

Boston is now 39-29 on the season and will begin a four game series with the Chicago White Sox at Fenway Park on Monday afternoon.
