All you out outdoor enthusiasts, pull on your hip waders and get your team together for the 7th Annual Maine Outdoor Challenge at the L.L. Bean Outdoor Discovery Center in Freeport. Compete for bragging rights and the highly coveted Bronze Boot Award while raising money for some truly important local non-profit organizations.

This year's challenge will benefit our communities through:

  • Portland Rotary Club, with over 130 members who volunteer their time, energy and resources to improve the lives of children through community projects that focus largely on hunger and education.
  • Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, who help kids realize their potential and offer youth a wide range of developmental programs after school and on weekends.

There will be 45 teams of 5 participating just one of the three days for three hours. The events include: archery, GPS orienting, fly casting, clay target shooting, (with instruction) and a new alternative. The event winds up with a huge lobster bake, live auction raffle prizes and awards on June 6th. Fundraising teams pledge to raise a team minimum of $1,500. Find out more and register here.
