Um, Captain, I admire your enthusiasm for "Rocking On", but don't throw those horns up in Brazil.  Over there it means, "I'm doing your wife". Ouch!

Some other U.S. friendly hand gestures to avoid:

The peace sign. Giving the peace sign with the back of your hand facing out gangsta' style means "eff you" in the U.K. and other places.

The thumbs up. This show of support in the states means "sit on this" in many places.

A-OK. This is an all around insult meaning " A-hole", "eff you" and a derogatory homosexual slur.

Curling your fingers to say,"come here". You get arrested in the Phillipines for this. It's a gesture only used for dogs.

Spreading your fingers into an open palmed hand. In Greece this means,"put your mouth on me." That's bad right?

I'm traveling with my hands in my pockets from now on,
Celeste
