Even Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien admitted it afterward - his team probably played its best game of the year last night in a 3-2 shootout win in Detroit.

The B's outshot the Wings 35-18 in regulation and could only watch former UMaine goalie Jimmy Howard stand on his head. And watch former UMaine player Gustav Nyquist score a game tying goal.

But in the shootout, while Tuukka Rask did not allow a goal, the Bruins lit the lamp twice - David Krejci and Reilly Smith. Their three game losing skid was over.

Tonight it does not get any easier for the Bruins. They play in Montreal and it's the Canadiens home opener.
