On a night when they hit five home runs and pounded out another 15 hits, the Red Sox lost to the Baltimore Orioles 13-9.

Starter Joe Kelly and every other pitcher that came in after him could do nothing.

Kelly gave up seven runs on seven hits and three walks in 2.1 innings. After the game the Sox sent Kelly and his 8.46 ERA to Pawtucket.

Tonny Layne gave up a run. Clay Buchholz gave up four runs and took the loss. Matt Barnes also allowed a run.

As for the offense, Mookie Betts hit two more home runs, giving him five in two nights.

Chris Young hit two homers and David Ortiz clubbed another one.

But, no amount of home runs could make up for the bad pitching.
