The Red Sox Sox got a bad start from Henry Owens, a blown save from Craig Kimbrel and still managed to beat the Houston Astros 7-5 in 12 innings on Sunday Night Baseball. The win evens the Sox record at 9-9.

Owens, taking Joe Kelly's spot in the rotation, threw 86 pitches in 3.1 innings.

Matt Barnes, Junichi Tazawa and Koji Uehara held down the fort until closer Craig Kimbrel came on for the ninth inning. He gave up a 2-out, 2-run home run from Colby Rasmus to tie the game at 5-5.

In the 12th, the Sox scored the go-ahead run on a Jackie Bradley Jr basehit and then an insurance run on a wild pitch.

Heath Hembree pitched three scoreless innings to get the win.
