After cruising to an easy win in the home opener the Boston Red Sox had to come from behind to beat Washington Tuesday by an 8-7 score.The Nationals took a 7-5 into the 7th inning after exploding for 6 runs in the 5th. That's when the Sox took advantage of hit batters and timely hits to score 3 runs and hang on for the win.

Dustin Pedroia had 3 hits in the game including a homerun while Mookie Betts added a 2-run double to help the Sox improve to 6-2 on the season.

Koji Uehara made his first appearance of the season after coming off the disabled list Monday. Despite a scare in the 9th inning he struck out two and got his first save of the season.

The Sox go for the series sweep tonight at Fenway.
